The approach of other firms At many firms, your tax return isn't prepared by your CPA.  After the initial interview, your personal tax information (W-2's, 1099's, brokerage statements, etc.) is handed off to a junior staff member who actually prepares your tax return, forwards the final result to the person you met with for signature and possibly a cursory review.   Did that person with whom you never actually met really learn enough about you to properly prepare your returns from the interviewer?  Will your return appropriately reflect your tax positions?  Was your return prepared effectively and efficiently?  Is the real preparer a Certified Public Accountant?  Does the real preparer work year-round at the firm?  What is that preparer's level of experience?

It's our way, we apply it consistently and we do it very well.
